Metal Blade Records launches new edition of “6 Bands in 60 Seconds”

Metal Blade Records has launched a new edition of the “6 Bands in 60 Seconds” campaign, where CEO Brian Slagel spotlights six artists from the label’s roster. The goal of the promotion is to help fans discover new music from some of the most promising acts in the scene. The latest installment of the series features Revocation, The Ocean Collective, Skull Pit, Nothgard, Satan, and Anaal Nathrakh; to watch the video clip, and to learn more about the artists, please visit: metalblade.com/6bands

Produced by Zeuss (Rob Zombie, Queensryche, Whitechapel, etc.), Revocation‘s recently released The Outer Ones sees the band pushing both the death metal and progressive elements of their signature sound harder than ever. “I knew that I wanted to go in a darker direction, and this is our most death metal album to date,” states vocalist/guitarist Dave Davidson. “Sometimes when death metal bands go down the prog route they lose some of that edge, but we wanted to keep the aggression at the forefront of what we do while still pushing our boundaries.” For more information, please visit: metalblade.com/revocation

On November 2nd, The Ocean Collective will release their new album, Phanerozoic I: Palaeozoic. Ebbs and flows of proggy melodies, crushing guitars, swelling strings and powerful vocals match the heavy lyrical themes The Ocean Collective is known for, proving again why they are one of the most respected groups in the contemporary prog-metal world. Skull Pit is a tale of two musicians from opposite sides of the heavy metal spectrum and the planet: Tatsu, hailing from Tokyo/Japan, is the bassist and mastermind behind the internationally acclaimed doom outfit Church Of Misery; Mem, from New York/USA, is the singer and front-man of German thrash pioneers Exumer! The two veterans endeavored to combine their favorite elements of bands like Motorhead along with the countless outfits of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal into one blistering and highly energetic nine-track album. On October 26th, Nothgard will release their new album, Malady X. Recorded at Def-Creation and & Southern Deathcult studios, Malady X was mastered by the renowned Jens Bogren (Amon Amarth, Arch Enemy, Kreator, Opeth, etc.). The result is an album full of epic melodic death metal anthems! For more information, please visit: metalblade.com/nothgard

Bearers of the NWOBHM movement and responsible for ’83’s seminal Court In the Act and ’87’s Suspended SentenceSatan make it abundantly clear on their latest album, Cruel Magic, that they are not interested in simply capitalizing on past glories. Comprised of 10 tracks of searing metal, it is blatantly and profoundly the work of the Newcastle upon Tyne natives at their very best, infusing their signature sound with a more raw, wild and spontaneous vibe than they showcased on 2015’s mighty Atom By Atom – and in the process, displaying more passion and energy than slews of bands half their age. Those exposed to the ten tracks comprising Anaal Nathrakh‘s tenth full-length, A New Kind Of Horror, will be unable to deny that lyrically, musically and sonically it is a punishing listen mired in darkness and seething with raw emotion. With multi-instrumentalist Mick Kenney pushing their distinctive hybrid of symphonic black metal, death metal, industrial and grindcore ever forward, vocalist Dave Hunt draws lyrical inspiration primarily from the horrors of the First World War, contemporary politics, and the letters of D.H. Lawrence, creating one of the most powerful, timely and unique releases of 2018. For more information, please visit: metalblade.com/anaalnathrakh
